My student continues with the behaviors I have mentioned. I find it difficult to pinpoint exactly what it is that makes him a repeat offender. The dual teaching that is going on right now has become somewhat of an inconsistency. My CT's approach to our student is to make him leave the classroom and sit in the hallway. Mine is that of "redirection" and at this point I am a little frustrated. The other classroom he spends the remainder of his day in also sends him to the hallway. I find him there a lot! I feel that collaboration between all of us adults would benefit him greatly, but I can not personally condone sending a student out into the hallway unsupervised and without getting the necessary instruction for their work. I am not sure how this benefits them.
Furthermore, I am struggling with the collection of anecdotal notes. I need to find a better way to collect and keep up with this information. I think if I can do this, it will greatly help and support me with the behavior modification plan for him.

Hey Wendy,
ReplyDeleteThis is not actually in relation to THIS post, per se, but.... Julie mentioned that she had given you the name of some authors to read to help us do effective writing conferences. Katie Wood Ray, perhaps? She said they were on your blog but I'm not having luck finding them... Can you help me?
