Flint Ch. 6

My favorite part of this Flint chapter was where it showed the examples and discussed the different stages of writing development. My first semester in the school of education, I was placed in a Kindergarten classroom. We had a semester long project where we followed a certain child to observe the progression of their learning. The child that I worked with was an extremely bright and energetic little girl. By the end of the semester I had collected many written work samples. I could at that point actually "see" her progressing, but had no name for these different stages of her writing development. It is really neat to read about these different stages, see examples of each and make the connections to her work.
I also enjoyed the reading the invitations for the classroom, ideas to help students with their oral language learning, but it was the emergent writing that I really got the most out of.
